Employee Spotlight—Dave Koskinen

Innovation and outstanding service is what drives customers to General Films; and helping our clients find solutions to meet their specific needs is what drives General Films. Both new and existing clients challenge us to continually create innovative products. National Account Manager Dave Koskinen understands that creating and maintaining relationships with clients is the best way to truly understand their business and to offer them products that will meet their needs.

Dave is one of the people working to develop new business for General Films; researching and contacting companies that produce and package products that utilize flexible packaging films. Once he introduces the film structure that can best meet their specific needs, he then guides the prospect through a carefully developed process. Dave works closely with the customer service team to ensure that customers are well taken care of, quotes are completed, orders and projects are on track and products are delivered accurately.

Prior to joining the General Films team in October 2013, Dave worked as a sales manager, leading the sales, marketing and customer services teams for a Wisconsin-based films company. He brings more than 15 years of experience in the films industry to his job and team at General Films. This experience helps him to better understand the needs of each individual customer organization.

One of the things Dave values most in the General Films organization is the open dialogue from leadership about the vision for General Films. “Each person and department plays a specific role in the mission and vision of the company,” he says. “The quarterly town hall meetings help everyone to understand they are part of a team and appreciate everyone’s role within the company.” When he’s not at work, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife, Julie, and their two sons—Jack and Matt. As a family, they enjoy the great outdoors, especially hiking and biking. Dave is also active in his church, where he participates in mission trips, most recently traveling to Swaziland in Southern Africa.
